5 april 2012 sonogram

We had an extra sonogram yesterday. Everything looks good with the baby. Baby weighed in at 5lbs., 11oz. and between the 33rd and 45th percentile (the regular machine said 33rd... then they input the numbers into another program and it came back at the 45th). If I make it to 40 weeks baby is expected to be roughly 7.5lbs at birth.

We even got a little thumbs-up from the baby during the sono.

I know that might not look like a thumb, but she promised us it was!

3 april 2012 biophysical

Our doc called us in to do a biophysical profile on baby and we got a couple of quick images (below). It wasn't a regular sonogram where they take measurements but baby had a perfect score on the biophysical so good news there.

You can see the fleshy part of the face filling out more and more.

I kind of like it when people I see on a regular basis are just now discovering that I'm pregnant.

P.S. And I kind of like it even better when they look at my belly, try and process what they see, and still don't mention anything.

22 march 2012 sonogram

We had another routine sonogram last week (at 34 weeks) and I'm still not happy about it. We got a different sonographer than we have had before and she was very inattentive in general and wasn't very precise with the measurements, so the results were a bit harrowing. She spent less than half the time they normally spend checking on the necessities (heartbeat) and taking measurements. Not sure if she was new or just having a bad day. I am still feeling baby like I should and my belly is still getting bigger so there's no reason to worry, I just wish the experience had been better.

Not really sure why she gave us this picture. I think its pretty much the same as the first one.

Baby was transverse (sideways) this time, which we hadn't seen since very early on when it was only a couple of inches long. Hopefully we'll have one more routine sonogram at 38 weeks to come and baby will be behaving (head down)!

32 weeks belly picture

I'm more than a week and a half late posting this picture for you, but its a picture nonetheless so stop whining! Looks like we were watching America's Funniest Home Videos at the time and there's a little kitty spying on us too.

27 february 3d/4d sonogram

We chose to have an extra "fun" sonogram done where they switch probes on the sonogram machine and it allows a glimpse at the baby in 3d view showing physical features. For most of the session the baby had his/her hands right up by the face so it took a while to get some decent shots, but we did get a few!

The first two are my favorite - we think it looks like Jason's lips and my nose :)
